About Myself

Well, Let's start with the technical details:
    Name: Semuel Fomberg
    Born: 11/7/1978
    Age: 29

Short biography:
    Let's start with that I live in Israel. I was born in "CFaR HaSiDiM", (it's in hebrew, so excuse me for the strange spelling) and some years after that my family moved to "KiRiYaT MoZKiN".
    In MoZKiN I studied in elementary school named "MiZPe", and in high school "PiRCeY aHaRoN" yeshiva. (in english: Aharon's flowers yeshiva) I was always a quiet kid, and loved computers. I think that it's obvious that it was a terrible time for me.
    Got to the Technion, to the Electrical Engineering Faculty, and found many people like me. I had four years of fun and studies, and finished with an engineering grade.
    After graduation I was recruit to the army. After a long and tiresome course, I got to the communications division, where I did some meaningless roles.
    I was released from the army, and traveled to Japan for a month and a half, from which my girlfriend joined me for three week.
    Returned to Israel, Started working for Qualcomm-Israel, as a Perl programmer. This is a nice and calm company, with good people. I recommend it.
    Two month later (20.12.2006) I married to the girlfriend from two sentences ago. Her name is Nili. Currently she is pregnant with our first child. It's a boy.

Habits:
    Anime - Japanese animation series.
    Japanese - The language. I'm trying to self-study it.
    Fantasy, SF
    Web Comics (see my jump page)
    Programming (yep. it's a habit alright)
    Reading books. lots of books.

Academic Life:
    Graduated as Electrical Engineer in the Technion.
    Focuses: Computer Programming, Computer Networks, Signal/Image Processing.
    Started Doing a Master in EE, in the Technion - But dropped that.
    Did a Japanese course in the Open University.

Programming Abilities:
    Throught the Technion and the jobs that I had after it, I learned a lot of computer languages.
    Active languages: Perl, C, C++.
    The rest is history, (altough I can always return to it) that echo from it you can see in my code page, where a few past projects and programs can be found.

Working History:
    I worked in a small (and now closed) startup company, named Siftology, for half a year. I worked as a C/Perl/Whatever programmer, the payment was good, and it lasted until I was recruited to the army.
    I also worked, while in service, for a company called CamTek. They are working with image processing, and I did a management environment where they could write their algorithms and test them each against the other. The program was written in VB6.
    Currently I'm working for Qualcomm-Israel as Perl Programmer.
